2023 Yleana Info Sessions

At Yleana, the start of a new year means INFO SESSIONS! In January, February, and March, Alyssa hits the road to visit our partner organizations in NYC, Boston, Baltimore, and Philadelphia, where she meets with students to let them know all about Yleana Leadership Academy! Over the course of three months, she’ll meet with approximately 450 students (virtually and in person) spread out over more than 25 info sessions. During these sessions, students will learn about what makes Yleana’s program so unique! Although many universities are no longer requiring standardized tests, Alyssa explains that taking (and earning a high score on) the SAT is still 100% worth it for many reasons, including the financial aid and scholarship opportunities that it opens up.

Students will have the chance to learn about what really takes place at the program - beyond the classroom! At Yleana Leadership Academy, rising high school seniors have the opportunity to experience what it’s like to live on a college campus and how to navigate that new freedom. In addition to learning new strategies and approaches for the SAT and critical thinking, they live in the dorms, eat in the cafeteria, and take classes in college classrooms. All of this magic happens alongside a fun summer experience, complete with brand-new friends. Info sessions even feature some Yleana alums (former students!) who share their feedback and talk about the impact that Yleana has had on their lives.
