Originally from Philadelphia, Jawad is a 2014 Gates Millennium Scholarship recipient and 1st generation college graduate who studied political science at Georgetown University and education policy at Columbia University Teacher's College. He has worked in campaigns and elections, for a political software vendor, and for a network of foundations and philanthropies. In his spare time, he loves reading, hiking, boxing, and long walks through the city.
